| Roller Shades
The most popular shade is the roller shade. It can
be mounted inside or outside of the window. It can
have a spring tension or a clutch system. With the
spring tension you adjust the shade by pulling the
shade itself down to the desired position or until
it releases to glide up. With the clutch system, you
pull on a chain and not the shade itself.
A roller shade with the spring tension will have a
_” space on each side of the shade to allow
clearance of the brackets. The space will increase
by 1/8” on each side if a clutch is used.
The shades themselves are made of a polyester fabric
that allows light to penetrate but no harmful rays
and no visibility. Or there is black out that does
not allow any light and has no visibility.
We usually put a leather yoke across the bottom of
each shade and a board mounted valance is used to
hide the roller mechanism. This valance is completely
separate from the roller shade. The yoke on the shade
can be any design the customer likes, his own or ours.
